Born in Venezuela and raised in Colombia and Mexico, in 1999, Adriana moved to Miami, FL to finish High School and then enrolled at the University of Florida, where she received a B.A. in Political Science in 2004 and a M.A in Latin American Studies with a focus in International Relations in 2006. In 2010, she joined the family business at Sea Delight and has now ventured on her own.
Based in Miami, FL Adriana has been a champion for supporting Global Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs), building working relationships with NGOs and consultants, and fostering pre-competitive collaboration within the seafood industry. Her areas of expertise include advocacy, strategic planning, evaluation, management of international and multicultural teams and projects and helping companies shape their sustainability and seafood traceability commitments as well as representing business interests in the larger sustainability conversation.
In 2014, she was chosen as a Blue Friend of the Year finalist for the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in the Go Blue Awards. In 2016, Adriana was honored to be featured in Intrafish’s “40 under 40” campaign as well as Seafood Source’s Seafood Business Insider. She also completed the National Fisheries Institute (NFI) Future Leaders Program and was selected to participate in the FisheryProgress.org website Advisory Committee, the Sustainable Seafood Evaluation Advisory Panel, multiple Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) Supplier Roundtables, among other initiatives. Furthermore, she has participated in high level panels and meetings at the North America Seafood Expo in Boston in 2014, 2015, and 2017 as well as the SeaWeb Seafood Summit in New Orleans in 2015, and then Seattle in 2017.
Today, she has identified a need for helping companies Kick-Start their sustainability journey and provide cost-effective solutions that are tailored to their business needs.
