The Shrimp Welfare Project (SWP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of farmed shrimp through practical, science-based solutions. Their work focuses on advancing humane slaughter practices—particularly the adoption of electrical stunning—alongside on-farm improvements and industry collaboration. By partnering with producers, retailers, and other stakeholders, SWP helps drive scalable changes that align animal welfare with responsible sourcing and evolving market expectations.
