COSOREMA (Conservación Sostenible de los Recursos Marinos y Acuáticos) is a Mexico-based NGO working across Mexico and Latin America to strengthen sustainable fisheries through practical, science-based, and market-aligned solutions. COSOREMA collaborates with fishing communities, seafood companies, government agencies, and international partners to implement Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs), support first-mile traceability systems, and generate credible data that improves fisheries management and supply chain transparency.

The organization specializes in bridging the gap between producers, industry, and global markets by facilitating the adoption of internationally recognized frameworks such as MSC, Fair Trade USA (FTUSA), GDST, and responsible sourcing standards. Its work integrates environmental sustainability, economic viability, and social equity, helping small-scale fisheries strengthen governance, improve compliance readiness, and align with evolving regulatory and market expectations. Through partnerships with cooperatives, technology providers, buyers, and public institutions, COSOREMA contributes to more transparent, inclusive, and responsible seafood supply chains across the region, supporting climate resilience, traceability adoption, and long-term value creation for coastal communities.
